Our Simple Planning Process
At Shrom Associates, we believe financial guidance should feel personal, organized, and easy to understand. Our process is designed to help us get to know you, understand your goals, review your current accounts and assets, and decide together whether working with us makes sense.
Step 1: Intro Phone Call
The first step is a simple phone call. This gives us a chance to get to know you, learn a little about your situation, and understand what you may be looking for help with.
If it seems like we may be able to help, we will schedule an in-person meeting to take a closer look at your accounts, assets, goals, and overall financial picture.
Step 2: In-Person Review Meeting
The second meeting is usually done in person. During this meeting, we review your current accounts, assets, investments, retirement plans, and any other important financial information.
This is also where we talk through your goals, retirement timeline, income needs, family considerations, and whether your current plan appears to be on track based on the information available.
The goal of this meeting is not to pressure you into anything. It is simply to understand your situation, answer questions, and determine whether working together would be a good fit.
Step 3: Account Setup & Onboarding
If we decide to move forward, the third step is setting up accounts and officially onboarding you as a client of Shrom Associates.
During this step, we help complete the needed paperwork, organize account information, explain what is being set up, and walk you through the next steps.
We want you to understand what is happening and feel comfortable throughout the process.
Step 4: Follow-Up Review
Once everything is set up, we schedule a follow-up review. This meeting can be done in person or over the phone, depending on what works best for you.
During this review, we go over what has been completed, confirm that accounts are set up properly, review any remaining items, and answer questions. This gives everyone a chance to make sure the plan is organized and understood.
Step 5: Ongoing Reviews
After the initial setup, we believe it is important to review your financial picture over time. For many clients, this means a yearly review either in person or over the phone.
Some clients prefer to meet more often, especially if they are going through a major life change, approaching retirement, running a business, or making important financial decisions. Other clients may only want to meet every couple of years if not much has changed.
That is completely fine. The review schedule can be based on your needs, preferences, and comfort level.
Our goal is to be here as a long-term resource for you and your family, helping you stay organized and make thoughtful financial decisions as life changes.
